As some of you may already know, there is an English language playgroup that meets every week for bilingual children. It started over six years ago with four members (and their four moms!). Today there are over 60 families, 125 children and three groups that meet regularly: one for kids of all ages, plus an under 2s group and an over 5 group.
The group has launched an exciting new initiative to create a LIBRARY of English-language books for children and young adults. And, we need donations!
Children will be able to check out books and visit the library (located in member's home in Nunez). We expect to officially launch the library in July and we need donations: books, games, puzzles, maps, etc.
We are also asking for $$$ donations. We want to buy magazine subscriptions for the library as well: NatGeo for kids and Highlights (remember Highlights?!) We also have a list of books we would like to include in the library even if we don't get them through donations and we will need to buy them.
We will be posting news, photos of the space, lists of books we want, the book catalogue, activity schedules, resources and the names of everyone who donates here at our blog.
