The English Library: Book Reviews by Kids

The English Library wants to hear from its members. We want to publish your book reviews. What is your favorite book? Why? Have you read other things by the same author? On the same topic? Send us your review in an e-mail or write it out by hand and scan it and we will publish them here.

How The English Library Works...

* Become a member! Suggested annual donation per family is $100 pesos (money goes 100% to supplies for the library and buying books). You can also become a Special Sponsor, email us for details.

* Books are limited to 3 per child and for 3 weeks.

* If a book is lost, we ask that you replace it. We ask our members to teach their children how a library works, how to take care of borrowed books, and to promote the idea of sharing.

* Each kid will be issued a library card (more for fun than anything else).

* A list of all the books (lenders and donations) is available, the updated version will be uploaded shortly.

BA Playgroup

The English Library is an initiative of The Buenos Aires Playgroup, an organization that began in 2004 with eight members (four kids and their moms). Today the organization has over 60 families and 125 children who participate through a Yahoo group and monthly activities that are organized for children of all ages (from babies all the way up to teens). We are an English speaking group living indefinitely in a predominantly Spanish-speaking world and raising our bicultural/bilingual children in Argentina.
